PENRITH Panthers captain Petero Civoniceva admitted that his side could miss out on the finals leading into their clash with South Sydney tomorrow night.

After a demoralising defeat to Wests Tigers last weekend, the Panthers are in fourth position on 28 points with two other teams.therefore it canbe easily understandable that they are in the position of do or die.

A loss to the Rabbitohs could send them as far down as eighth, leaving Panthers fans fearing the worst but the players of the Penther are very hopeful to their win

“It’s a reality that if we don’t get our act together there is a lot on the line,” Civoniceva said. “But we’re proud enough as a team to not let that happen. “We set goals for ourselves right at the start of the season and have done a lot to get into this position in the eight. “We just have to get through this tough period as a team, starting this Friday night. “The only way we can find our rhythm again is by doing all those things we were doing at the start of the season and just bringing that toughness and desire back.” Penrith will face a hungry South Sydney side fighting to reach the eight for the first time under coach John Lang. Panthers forward Matthew Bell knows first hand how tough the Rabbitohs’ forward pack is after being on the end of a memorable Sam Burgess tackle in round 12.
